Poor neglected blog

December 5, 2009 Jordana

NaNoWriMo: I did OK. Not quite up to my goal, but then, I was trying to approach even my goal as reasonably flexible, because I wanted to accomplish some writing without any accompanying guilt of not doing quite well enough. I think I came in somewhere between 10,000 and 11,000 words; my goal was 15,000.

Now I need to focus that energy and time on getting together a class I’m teaching starting in January. I attended a professional development seminar today, and OH my. My brain is so not in that mode right now.

Rhiannon is seven months and four days old!

She now babbles (“Babababababa!” etc.). She rocks on all fours, and sometimes scooches a knee forward and then flings herself on her stomach to reach something she wants. She is so close to crawling.

I just can’t say enough about how sweet she is. She is quiet, patient, and loving … big kids love her, and she loves big kids. She pretty much loves everybody, as far as I can tell. It’s actually rather gratifying to me on those rare occasions when she displays some stranger anxiety/mommy preference.

My brain is rather fried from wrapping itself around Captivate this morning (to mix a metaphor), so I will just reiterate that Rhiannon is amazing–did I mention the all-night sleeping that has been going on around here? Twelve to thirteen hours a night, people!–and leave you with a picture of Rhiannon being delighted with having a pillow fight with Daddy and Ngaire.

I just have one question. Is there a curtain shortage in Kodiak?

Are you saying something about my photography, Daniel? šŸ˜‰ We have blinds, but we don’t have any curtains for the living room yet. I have some picked out, though, so if it pains you deeply, you can totally feel free to buy them for me.

Just don’t like people that can see me without me seeing them. Jess and I can help you pick out some curtains and paint if you like. Chris told Jess that he was “thinking of white” for paint. We’ll just call him after we (you, Jess and I)pick some colors.

    That sounds really fun, Daniel!
