Dear everybody

April 11, 2010 Jordana

I have not disappeared.

The Husbandlet went to DC for a week for work, during which time, the kids all forgot how to sleep through the night (well, Liam’s problem is that he forgot how to sleep past 5:45 a.m.).

Because I was sleep deprived, I decided it would be a good idea to paint my living room, dining area and entry way. Pro: Everything looks about 700% better. Con: I always got started on my interrupted sleep ridiculously late.

The Husbandlet got back and immediately plunged into one of the weirder tasks of his job, namely, babysitting hatching crab larvae. Apparently, they like to hatch at night. Result? He’s been at work till 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. most nights this week! We’ve been getting to bed really late!

My parents moved to town on Friday and are now living with us while seeking alternative housing.

It occurred to me the other day that Rhiannon is almost one, and while she is now eating solid(ish) food like a hungry thing, she is also breastfeeding as many times a day as she was as a newborn. Ha!

Also, in two days I will be 31 years old.

So, I do exist, still, Internet. Just in a foggy, tired, paint-spattered, rapidly aging, continually breastfeeding sort of a way.

Oh, and Alysia? You are AWESOME.

P.S. Aside from Ngaire throwing up about two weeks ago and Rhiannon’s current cold, we are healthy. And there is much rejoicing, oh yes there is.

Our little guy is getting his second tooth. He’s always looking for opportunities to use it, preferrably on human flesh.
